Unfortunately, traditional dentures have a number of problems. This includes awkward shifting during chewing through to creating sore spots in the mouth following prolonged use. These problems are caused by the lack of a firm, supporting framework within the mouth on which dentures can sit.
A new technique which can resolve this issue involves the use of implant retained dentures. These are a full denture which is held in position through attachment to a series of titanium screws which have been inserted into the jaw bone. Once the denture is attached to the screws, movement is minimal, making chewing, talking, laughing and similar activities much easier. The process of inserting the implants is completely painless and we always ensure you feel comfortable every step of the way.
Implant retained dentures are suitable for patients who have no teeth at all or whose teeth are in poor condition. If you require simply the replacement of a few teeth (in those circumstances, implants or a bridge may be a more suitable solution).
